This is an awesome video. Just the way it's organized makes it so much easier to follow. I'm a fan.

Squeaking in a very short time guarantee. You must put grease on the slide rails, not only the little drop on the ears. Some pads don't come with shim replacement, so make sure you remove using screwdriver leverage and not just pull them out because this can break them. Wire brush, brake cleaner, will clean them up nicely. ObDII device needed to set brake service mode. I used a bluetooth reader and app called carista that worked well for me. Other than those points video was good.
Nice how the rotor automatically renews itself in the process. This video also works with the mute option in case you don't like lame, really loud, looped desktop derived "music" noise.
Also doesn't mention anything about winding the E Brake back
Explain how you put the vehicle in parking brake service mode?
Thank you for your feedback!
Unfortunately, it is not possible to recommend any method for setting the service mode. You can find a detailed manual in the service documentation for the repair of your car.
Best regards, Autodoc.

Do i have to put the brake into service mode?
Yes, it is recommended to set the parking brake to service mode.
Just wondering, how many ebrake motors are there to be reset.? One on each side or just one (right/left).?
Using diagnostic equipment, the parking brake is switched to service mode, at which point both rear axle drives go into service mode.
I would like some detail on how to put the rear parking brake on a 2015 A4 into "service mode". Do I have to buy anything else to hook up to the system? What exactly? Thanks very much!
We cannot tell you for sure. You can find this information in the vehicle maintenance log book
What is a "Vehicle Maintenance Log Book"? I bought the car used, I do not have any such thing. Where else can I get the information, if not from you?@@autodocuk
The one that I’ve heard about the most and ended up getting is VCDS, though it’s like $250 plus shipping and taxes, but it lets you do a lot more than just change the brake pads. There’s coding you can change as well if your vehicle does things you’d like to turn off or things you’d like to turn on. The Ross-tech website and audi forums can explain more deeply than I can
Thanks very much for your reply!@@luciusn21
Is it a must to keep it on service mode
Thank you for your comment!
In this case, the rear caliper is equipped with an electronic handbrake, without the service mode, you will not be able to squeeze the piston back into the caliper body.

o, not from the cars computer without the OBD11 or other service software. Manual way is possible. The motor is 12V. Disconnect the plug on the brake calliper, use a small 12V battery from a motor cycle or similar, or 2-wires from the car's battery. Always be very careful for a short on the 12V system. If revers polarity is applied to the motor, the motor will release. Apply the 12V until the motor stops, that can take approximately 10-sek. The motor is now fully released. The hydraulic piston can now be pushed back to allow for the fitment of the new pads.
How to these brakes work? It seems like there is nothing to push the pads back out after the caliper squeezes them. Are the always slightly riding the disk?
The design of the brake calliper is so arranged that only when you press the brake pedal does braking occur by contacting the discs with the pads.
When the pedal is released, the pressure is released, disengaging the pad from the surface of the disc.
Good 👍👍👍
Do you have to take off the break cover where you put the oil in when you wind back the calipers?
Thanks for your comment. Yes, it is recommended to remove the cover.

What you did on the laptop before start the job please would you share your thoughts thanks
In this case mechanic put the parking brake into service mode.
@@autodocuk can we do ourself I mean if I want to change then at home what do I need to do? Do I need some software or something else Thanks for your reply
Appreciate
@@CrystalIced I usually just hot-wire the electric servos. Disconnect the connector and you'll see two flat contacts. Using a 12V battery (and a small fuse is recommended), run wires from the battery to the connectors using insulated alligator clips.
Be careful not to short anything out and observe polarity (watch which way the piston moves) and listen to the servo motor.
You have to do the procedure on each side once.
Do i have to disconnect the sensor for the brake pads only?
The fact is that there is an electronic parking brake at the back, before replacing it you need to turn it off using a computer, otherwise, you will not be able to open the pads.

@@autodocuk what if you leave the car in neutral and chalk the front wheels?
Is it the same method with an electric handbrake do you not need a computer
If I forgot to unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap , wath damage or what happened now ?
Without proper diagnostics it is difficult to say something, we recommend that you consult with your mechanic.
Where can I find the tool you used to push the piston back into the caliper?
Thank you for your comment.
The tool that can be used to push the piston back into the caliper YT-0611 YATO.

A big C clamp works fine for this task
Good job😀👍👨🔧👨🔧
Does the pad sit in the anti rattle clip or does the clip push against the pad seems like the spring part of the guide is there to retract the pad a small amount so it's not dragging. Am I correct
It is usually installed perpendicular to the long axis of the pad by snapping in.
@@autodocuk I got it it's a return spring I downloaded the service manual. Thanks so much
Is this the same and the 2014 Audi Allroad A4?
In general, the replacement will be similar, but it may differ slightly in the design features of your car. More detailed information can be found in the log book of your car.
Hey mate,
What change you made with computer in the beginning?
Thank you for your comment!
With the help of a computer, we switched the rear caliper to the service mode, thereby the electric mechanism of the parking brake spread the pads to the sides.
Best Regards,
Autodoc team
@@autodocuk got ya.. thank you.

I dig this but you may wanna warn people not to get WD-40 on their rotors
Be sure to wipe the working surface of the disc with a brake cleaner after replacement.

What is he doing with the laptop computer?
In this case, using a laptop, we put the parking brake into service mode.
Left out part why you used laptop🙄
Starting at 0:38, you can see the mechanic using a laptop and putting the parking brake into service mode.
Helpful video but it could be much improved by removing the stupid, annoying, over-loud so-called music. I'd much rather just listen to genuine workshop noise, or nothing. The racket you have overlayed adds precisely nothing.
*Has this car been involved in an accident ??? 😐*
No!!!!! It's tuning
Thank you for your comment!
Yes, you are absolutely right, there was a small incident in the parking lot.

Look man 😅, the reason we search this stuff up on RUclips is because we DONT have those tools you have. I haven’t even heard of half the crap you used (which looked more like you were trying to show everyone you have it in the first place) and I still managed to replace the front brakes with just a ratchet and wD-40 .-. Be more helpful on tips or things we might come across to watch out for.
Totally stupid movie all we are getting is loud music instead of information
